Fox Theater Oakland - Combined Stats

All data mined via Everyday Companion:

Widespread Panic Summer Tour had officially made its way to California for the final seven shows of the 12-show West Coast tour. Prior to this run, they had played at the Fox Theater in downtown Oakland 15 times. They first made their way to this 2,800-person concert hall in 2009 for a three-night run (November 12-14). Originally opened in 1928 and used as a movie theater until the 70’s, this Indian / Middle Eastern themed theater has hosted many incredible artists since its reopening in 2009. Widespread Panic played the year it reopened after about $75 million was spent to refurbish it over the course of five years. Prior to the Fox Theater, Panic played in Oakland at the Paramount Theater for a three-night run September 27-29 in 2007.

Rather than writing three in-depth concert recaps, the WATLO Street Team decided to put together some stats and data for ya’ll and do a singular recap for the Flatbrim Friday show, July 17, 2026, because we thought it stood out the most musically.

      • LW deep dive: This song has only been played ten times in modern-era Panic (since Mikey’s passing). The LTP with Mikey was on 7/1/89 (interestingly, Todd wasn’t on drums during this show at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon House at UGA). Panic played Little Wing 63 times between 6/22/85 and 7/1/89 and then put it wayyyyyy far back on the shelf. After 1,928 shows, they brought it back on 10/7/06 with Jimmy on lead guitar, Kofi Burbridge on keyboards, Randall Bramblett on saxophone, Susan Tedeschi on vocals, and Yonrico Scott on percussion in Macon, GA. They played it three more times in 2006, once in 2007, and then put it back on the shelf for another 896 shows. It was dusted off once again on 4/22/23, now with Duane behind the kit, at The Moody Theater in Austin, TX. During the last encore of the six shows during this run, they used it as sandwich meat between Driving Song bread. Since its original dust off in 2006, it’s typically played in the second set or encore. Of the last ten times played in this millennium, this was the earliest show position, at slot number 4. One other time (10/29/06 in Las Vegas) it was played in set 0 (a mega set show without a setbreak), but the 16th position of 20 total songs played that set. Besides that one show, this was the only time Little Wing made an appearance in the first set since its original shelving in 1989.

  • Night 3:

    • You Should Be Glad: 174th time ever played

      • LTP: 11/23/25 (Cap Theater in Port Chester, NY), 31-show gap

      • FTP: 4/1/05 (State Theater in Detroit, MI)

      • Released on Earth To America in 2006
